What is the Brighter Futures project?
Brighter Futures is a project designed to help you into work by using volunteering to build skills and experience. You will receive support throughout your time with the project - from initial meetings, being matched with a volunteering opportunity that can develop "skills for work", to help in producing a high-quality CV and portfolio of work to be shown to potential employers. The overall focus is to help you become "job ready" and give you the confidence to apply for paid employment within the vocation you choose.
What are the benefits of the project?
Volunteering can have many personal benefits, and is a good way of providing a stepping stone back to employment. It is a great way to gain new skills and work experience, without affecting any benefits you may receive.
Volunteering is highly valued by employers, according to a recent survey by Timebank (a Government sponsored volunteering initiative) 73% of employers would employ a candidate with volunteering experience over one without.
