The V-Involved Team

What's V?

V is a new national framework for volunteering for young people between the ages of 16 and 25. V are building on the old project of Millennium Volunteers. V is new and fresh and was launched in Tameside in April 2008.

What award can I get?

The new award scheme gives you a new fancy certificate after 50 hours of volunteering. There is also something else coming out soon after the 50 hour award, so watch this space.

So how does it work?

If you're already volunteering - brilliant! This can count towards your award. If you are interested in volunteering and not sure what to do, come have a chat and we will be able to help you decide by going through the options in your local area.

Youth Action Team

We are starting putting together a Youth Action Team for the new V scheme. You could get involved in a range of ways including helping us decide on the design of publicity, or helping out at events and promoting volunteering. There will also be lots of activities for you to take part in to help the group get to know each other - such as go-karting, bowling, meals out and day trips.

And there's more!

Regular advertisement of one day events and possible residential trips throughout the school/college holidays. Celebratory events, including trips and parties.

So what next?
